A Purpose-Built Martial Arts Training Area
First, our fully matted training area supports striking, wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, submission grappling and complete MMA sessions. In addition, the gym includes heavy bags, speedballs and floor-to-ceiling balls, so members can develop accuracy, timing, movement, power and conditioning.
We also have a large matted area, padded walls and an octagon cage wall. These features help members practise takedowns, cage control, escapes and sparring in a suitable training environment. As a result, techniques can move from drills into controlled live practice.
MMA Coaching for Beginners and Experienced Fighters
Of course, every member has a different goal. Therefore, our coaches help complete beginners understand the fundamentals while experienced athletes continue to improve their technique, fitness and fight preparation.
Above all, head coach Ross “The Gladiator” Pointon brings decades of experience as a professional fighter, world champion and UFC veteran. His coaching combines striking, wrestling, grappling, submissions, defence and conditioning. You can read more about Ross Pointon and his competitive background.
Together, our sessions cover the skills that make mixed martial arts complete:
- Western boxing, kickboxing and Muay Thai
- Wrestling, takedowns and cage control
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling
- Ground control, escapes and ground-and-pound
- Fitness, strength, mobility and conditioning
- Practical self-defence, confidence and discipline
Training for Fitness, Confidence and Competition
Importantly, you do not have to become a fighter to train at Gladiator MMA. Many members attend to get fitter, become stronger, manage stress and learn useful skills. Furthermore, regular training can improve coordination, balance, stamina and confidence.
For people who want to compete, our coaching team can provide structured preparation and honest guidance. In addition, fighters can develop through suitable training, controlled sparring and the correct level of competition. Visit our Gladiator MMA Fight Team page for more information.
Safe, Clean and Responsible MMA Training
Safety, hygiene and respect guide every session at our gym. Members should arrive with clean training clothes and well-maintained personal equipment. After every session, members must clean, dry and store gloves, shin pads, head guards and other reusable gear correctly.
For this reason, good hygiene helps reduce the risk of common skin infections such as ringworm and impetigo. Moreover, the coaching team must check new personal equipment before members use it in class. If you need suitable equipment, visit our MMA fight gear shop page.
